Love Baekjeong! Great quality of meat and excellent service and just everything is on point. However I found out this location is closed and some new restaurant is moving in, I am just wondering why they closed and please come back or open an another branch in Ktown!

One of the best KBBQ spots in LA Koreatown. It's not all you can eat, but rather you order a set option from a menu and then one of the workers cooks the entire meal for you. Because of the high quality meats they use and the continuous service they provide, this place is quite pricey. But definitely worth a try at least once!! The flavor of the meat is amazing and you can definitely tell the quality is top notch. I love that they give you a ton of different unique banchan here before you begin your meal. They all felt very traditional and were so flavorful. Their kimchi is really good! It's also really fun to eat the extra side dishes at the outset of the grill, like the corn cheese and the grilled veggies. The service here is amazing. Super attentive workers and well-cooked meats. Like all the other reviews said, it does get very smoky in here so you WILL leave smelling like meat, but for a good cause. The wait here is crazyyy long so just be prepared to wait a while! But it's worth it :)

So it's important to note that this is not an all you can eat (AYCE) Korean BBQ place. With that said, you order meat plates a la carte and these places tend to have higher quality meats than the AYCE places. I made a reservation just in case it was crowded. We got there around 12:00pm on weekday and there were plenty of indoor and outdoor seats. I still say you should book reservations as I know other reviews talk about how busy this place is. My crony and I got a small beef combo which includes: thinly sliced brisket, prime marinated beef and we chose prime boneless short rib over the prime rib eye. It also comes with a choice of soup and we chose the pork kimchi stew. The small combo serves 2 and the large serves 4. After tax and tip, our total bill came out to $123.35. Most AYCE places I've been just have below average to bad customer service. Well, this place has exemplary service. Multiple helped us out and I was not acclimated to servers actually cooking the meat for us; that was a first for me and I've been to a myriad of KBBQ places. I was pleasantly surprised that when I accidentally dropped my spoon, someone came over and gave me a new one before I had the chance to ask. I though it was cool how they had various dishes on the outer edge of the actual grill. For instance, there was egg and corn on the outer grill that end up getting cooked once you start grilling the meat. The brisket and prime marinated beef were was good as other places I've been to. However, the prime boneless short rib was absolutely sublime. Since it's in the heart of LA, parking can be a pain, but we found metered parking. The whole food adventure took us an hour. The food was good, but it was definitely a tad bit too expensive for what we got.

TLDR; flavor town with impeccable service. Tucked away in an enclave of restaurants and bars is Baekjeong. Expect a long wait because this place it's popular, and for good reason. Came here with a large group and once we were seated our waiter immediately attended to us. The place isn't too big and the inside gets a bit smokey despite the ventilation. We were fortunate enough to sit on the heated patio. Once seated, you receive numerous complimentary appetizers. Each appetizer is so unique in its flavor profile and texture that it's worth the price of admission alone. We ordered the wagyu combo. It gets perfectly cooked by the waiter and my goodness each cut of meat is tender and flavorful. Also ordered the seafood pancake and it's a home run. A great restaurant, with friendly staff that is perfect for large groups. If you want to go to flavor town, eat here.

Food: Ordered the Large Beef Combo that includes Thinly Sliced Brisket, Prime Marinated Beef, Prime Rib Eye (instead of Prime Boneless Short Rib) , and Soybean Paste Stew (instead of Pork Kimchi stew) with peach soju. They definitely serve high quality meat here. The cuts were so tender and juicy. Hence, the higher price tag, but I think it's worth it. For the side dishes, I find the pumpkin with sesame sauce pretty unique as I don't see it often elsewhere, so do give it a try. Service: Good and Attentive. They cooked the meat perfectly and refilled our bachan(side dishes) for us. Ambiance: Lively and packed. *Parking is difficult on the weekend. The Chapman Plaza was full when I was there. I parked at Equitable Plaza on 630 S. Mariposa Ave for a flat rate of $5. It's about 3-4 mins walk.

This place always hits, there's a reason it is one of the most popular K Bbq spots in LA. We came on a Tuesday evening and there was no wait, we were seated within minutes. But if you come on a weekend around dinner time, be expected to wait a LONG time, it's definitely worth the wait though. Service: Initially I thought our waiter was quite rude, after seating us he came back after 2 minutes asking what we would like to order. At this point we barely had a chance to look at the menu and asked him politely to come back in a few minutes, he gave us a weird look and mumbled something then walked away. Aside from that moment though, the rest of the evening he was attentive and respectful. He came to the table frequently to cook the meat for us throughout the evening and was replacing our sides as we were finishing them. Sides: right away after being seated you have a ton of sides ready on the table, and they were all amazing to snack on while waiting for your meat. The 2 salads were the best part and they provide refills on all of the sides! Meat: they have a pork and beef combination option, however we decided to just order A La Carte because we wanted to try different meats. We went with the marinated galbi, thinly sliced brisket, and spicy pork belly. The portion sizes for each meat was very generous. They were all fantastic, the meat is very high quality and tasted amazing. The spicy pork was absolutely delicious, the marinade was the perfect combo of spicy, sweet, and salty. My personal favorite was the marinated galbi. The flavor is fantastical and the meat was very tender, it basically melted in my mouth. The meat went very well with the sauce and rice that they provide. This place is a little pricey, but nothing out of the ordinary for K BBQ. After tip the three of us spent about $60 for the three meats we chose. I thought it was worth every penny, the quality of the meat and sides are one of the best in LA and it's always a great experience coming here. Highly recommend!

Baekjeong always hits. They're under the same ownership as quarters. Quality doesn't miss. Beef combo which includes thinly sliced brisket, marinated beef and selection of prime boneless short rib or prime rib eye. Had them both, and prefer the short rib. The short rib here never disappoints. I've dined here on multiple occasions. The marbling of the meat is superb, and cooked to perfection. Definitely in my top 5 for korean bbq. Beef combo (small): $94.99

Haven't been here for a couple years because the wait is always crazy but I somehow ended up here for a second dinner and it's just as good as I remember it! The meat quality is fresh and still one of the best in ktown. Most likely because they don't freeze their meat. Both beef and pork combo are amazing so either order both or come back another time to try the other combo you didn't order Came here with a party of 8 and had a good time and enjoyed every part of the meal. I found out they take reservations through resy so if you want to beat the wait, go for that but max is 6 people through resy fyi.

Noticed that my original review was 8 years ago!!!! I've been going here consistently and wanted to say it's as good today as it was 8 years ago. The service is punctual and precise - they like to "cook" for you so even it seems they're not they, the will come back in timely fashion to flip the meat etc. We always order the beef special - which consists of 3 kinds of meat and lots of small plates of appetizers and veggies. The egg and corn cheese that cooks from the meat drippings is still part of what makes the meal so good. It's open all day which makes it easy to go on odd hours when it isn't too busy or has long line. Till my favorite Korean bbq place
